[ sometime in the evening after peter works up the courage to send it, tony will get a text. ]
hey it's peter sorry to bother you (if you're busy feel free to ignore this) do you mind if i asked you something kind of personal? and potentially weird?
i don't really know how to ask this but ok i met you before? from uh my world earth new york 21st century for reference but you look different? you're older and not as tall but i mean you have the same name and i'm pretty sure you both use the same suits or at least the same type of suits? i guess that's why i didn't recognize you at first sorry does any of this make sense? i know i sound crazy but i'm not lying i swear
[ whenever tony leaves his work space in the lab, he will come back to find 3 things on his desk. one is a mug of fresh coffee in the way he usually prefers; the only difference is that it has some orange flavoring in it. next to the mug is a container of apple chips, and next to that is a short note: ]
Don't forget to eat. See you in a day or 2. I'll take pictures. - Peter
it's just a close up shot of one of the alien spiders in a large jar from earlier that day. there's some damp moss and other leafy things he tossed in there to make it feel more at home. part of peter's face is in the background, smudged and tired, but happy. ]
[If the gifts hadn't brought a smile to his face (which they did), Tony is definitely smiling at the photo he's received from Peter just now. Cute kid.]
Hello, this is Tony Stark, correct? I'm Annabeth Chase, Head Architect for the Altera Science Group (that would be us, those of us who have taken jobs here). It was recommended to me that I look into hiring you onto my team for my current building project.
Several ways. I need people on the building construction itself and also material collection, but given what little I heard of your abilities from the person recommending you, I believe that you might be of more assistance elsewhere? If I were to ask you to design a system capable of filtering out biological agents, perhaps paired with some sort of decontamination chamber at our entry, would that be in your skillset? Or are you better suited to helping amp up our defenses?
[shiro's walking around base, casually minding his business, perhaps considering another trip into the depths of the ocean to see if he and keith can find their respective lions dormant underwater. what i mean to say is, this guy looks like he's on a mission--suited up and serious expression and back straight.]
[except]
[nyancat.wmv starts playing off from somewhere on him--so intrusively sneaky, that it catches him off-guard. not only is his galratech arm playing this annoying song, but it's also got its purple glow spiraling to the rhythm across its metallic brand.]
[shoulders hunched and heaved sigh, it's clear that shiro's been suffering this for a while]
Not again... [he groans, holding onto his arm and having no idea on how to switch off the memes. is this normal? safe for him??]
He almost pities the guy if he doesnāt find the situation so amusing. What kind of song is that even? He noticed the glitches as soon as he arrived and resolved it as far as it went for himself. Unfortunately, other people donāt seem to be so fortuitous. Maybe he should fix it eventually. (He just has a lot on his to-do list and silly glitches like these arenāt exactly a priority for him. Anyway, theyāre kind of funny when itās happening to people who, yāknow, arenāt him.) Honestly, Tony most likely would have just kept going if the tune wasnāt coming from the manās arm.
Considering heās working on a new one for Barnes, robotic limbs have been on the forefront of his mind lately. And even if they havenāt been, he would have still felt the inevitable urge to get a closer look at it, to analyze it. He doubts the chance to take it apart will be probable, but, yeah, heās thinking it.]
Need some help? [If you let him tinker with your arm, he can fix it.]
avoids looking at timestamp LMFAO ILL BE BETTER NOW
[he's surprised at the question, almost as if he wasn't expecting another person nearby. which seems like a silly idea, considering this base is relatively tiny and it's impossible to imagine that five people aren't around each other's vicinity at the same time.]
Well, I'm sure you can do a lot more than what I can.
[he tried it before; mentally urging his arm to stop this nonsense, just like he can just think of wiggling his fingers and having it happen. but this seems to be at another more mechanical level that he's not exactly privy to the machinations of.]
[shiro approaches the well-suited man, looking like he's suffering (from embarrassment), as his arm glows and plays the godawful song.]
I just-- [a man defeated] I just need it off. Now.
hiiiiiii (/^ā½^)/ i'm back from my trip!!! i got the sewing machine it's super great i tested it out and made a quilt with it and i want you to have it!! the first thing i made with it it's very soft and warm o(^ā½^)o
[She made a quilt for him. He was not expecting that, but it's ridiculously sweet. Honestly, he's a little taken aback by the gesture, so it takes him a minute to respond.]
thank you you didn't have to do that. but i'm glad you're back. how was the trip?
[ why does he call it a garage when there are no cars in it??? but ok.
anyway, a few minutes later, peter will show up outside the mancave with rhodey, the baby land shark. rhodey seems a little shy at the prospect of meeting someone new, sticking close to peter's legs, but the way his caudal fin moves indicates he is still looking forward to the prospect of making a new friend.
peter is in the process of gently nudging him forward with his leg. ]
