We're intrinsically linked with these creatures. Skin contact from us is the only known cure to the reckless, vengeful behaviour exhibited after ingesting their corpses in any form. We've encountered them a handful of times, once in a facility where it seems a forgotten haul of us were kept after they were retrieved from the site of the ambush that first landed us in Morningstar's lap.
Even if this is the precursor to another foray into a shared dream state as some have suggested to me, that dream state was preceded by two attacks by gargantuan monsters on the cities of New Tokyo and New Johannesburg. New Tokyo was completely decimated. Our shared dream merged New Tokyo, New Johannesburg and New Amsterdam together into one city overrun by monsters we were left to keep at bay and by the time we woke up, the invasions by giant creatures on the two cities had never happened and the cities were instead facing extreme weather conditions.
We can't dismiss these dreams, Tony. Our links to the creatures, dreaming and the blue are too undeniable to consider this coincidence. Something is going to happen and it's going to be bad.

I'm not worried about you. We can't protect or evacuate civilians without experienced people prepared to clear the way.
